Using Kubyl

Pod file browser

Two-pane file manager between your machine and a container.

Press F on a pod, or use the Files tab in the details panel. It is a two-pane file manager, your machine on one side and the container on the other, with a transfer queue at the bottom showing progress, speed, ETA and history.

What you can do

  • Upload, download and copy between panes. Drag and drop between panes, drop files from your OS onto the pod pane, or drag files out.
  • Preview text (up to files.preview_limit_kb, 256 KB) and images under 20 MB.
  • Edit files in place (under 5 MB), delete, rename, create folders, change permissions and copy paths.
  • Conflicts offer a keep both choice.

Dragging files out to the OS stages up to 32 MB when the drag starts. For bigger files use Download to….

How transfers work

Folders stream as tar, single files as cat, and large files as resumable dd chunks (files.chunk_size_mb, 4 MB) named *.kubyl-part. SHA-256 verification on both sides is on by default (files.verify), with files.concurrency_per_pod (2) parallel transfers.
