Learn Kubyl Mobile and Server

How the phone app and the Kubyl Server it pairs with work: installing the server, pairing devices, licenses, networking and what you can do from your pocket.

Kubyl Mobile

  • Kubyl Mobile: overview

What the Kubyl Mobile app is, what it needs and where to get it.

  • Pairing and servers

Pair the app with Kubyl Server by QR code or link, revoke a device and use more than one server.

  • Using the app

The five tabs of Kubyl Mobile and what you can do in them, with links to the detailed pages for resources, apps, monitoring, agents and settings.

  • Resource pages

What the page of each Kubernetes kind shows in Kubyl Mobile: workloads, pods, nodes, network, config and storage, access control, events and cluster objects.

  • Apps, GitOps and operators

Argo CD, Flux CD, Helm (read and write), Workloads, OLM operators and cluster updates in Kubyl Mobile.

  • Metrics, alerts and flows

The Prometheus explorer, charts, Alertmanager rules and silences, and network flows in Kubyl Mobile.

  • AI agents in the app

Chat with an AI agent about a cluster from Kubyl Mobile: consent, entry points, what it can read and what stays on the server.

  • Settings and the license screen

App settings, the license screen, notifications, paired devices, cluster sign-in and turned-off clusters in Kubyl Mobile.

  • Safe changes

How Kubyl Mobile protects clusters: two-step confirmation, typed names on production, biometrics, read-only clusters and masked secrets.

  • Push notifications

Get notified about firing alerts, failed Argo CD syncs and NotReady nodes, with end-to-end encrypted payloads.

Kubyl Server

  • Kubyl Server: install and pairing

Run Kubyl Server in a container, pair the mobile app and configure it with flags and environment variables.

  • Server license

Activate Kubyl Server, the license states and grace period, and moving a license to another server.

  • Credentials and sign-ins

The encrypted credential store, shared or per-device sign-ins on the Team plan, and exec plugins such as aws, gke and kubelogin.

  • Server operations

Networking with Tailscale or WireGuard, TLS and proxies, the Helm chart's exposure options, and the web UI.

  • AI agents

Run Claude, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot, goose or OpenCode on your server for read-only cluster chat: setup, sign-in, limits and security notes.

  • What the mobile client can and cannot do

What Kubyl Mobile can read and change through Kubyl Server, how read-only and production clusters are set, and how Helm writes work.

  • Updates and image contents

Update Kubyl Server, what the single container image bundles, how to pin or drop tools, and the bundled licenses.

  • Troubleshooting and console keys

Fixes for common Kubyl Server problems and the keys of the full-screen console.
